Preparing for a New School Year in Special Education!
Hello!
Here at the ranch, I wanted to provide a great resource for families that are preparing for another school year. Maybe you have felt that you did not get to communicate the way you wanted at your student's IEP meeting, maybe you have questions about the fidelity of how the IEP was carried out. There are so many pieces to educating a student with a disability, and there are some great places to go for guidance. One great piece is from the Michigan Department of Education and it includes fact sheets on many different parts of special education. From laws to advocating for your child, as well as what to expect from your child's IEP, there is tons of things to explore.

There is also a place to sign up for new information that comes out of the Office of Special Education. Also, if you ever have questions, there is a parent resources page as well as a phone number you can call with questions. Here is the site for that:
