The Environmental Club is Rocking!

Hello all!

Thanks to some great programs we have gotten a great start in recycling here at Escanaba.  Here is a rundown of some of the amazing things that our students are working on.

1.  Trick or Trash:  Thanks to Rubicon Global, our school was able to participate in the "Trick or Trash" campaign.  We collected (and the box is not completely full yet, so we are still collecting) candy wrappers from Halloween.  If you still have wrappers, send them our way.  We can also collect chip bags, granola bar wrappers, and energy bar type wrappers.  Just make sure there are not a bunch of crumbs in them!
2.  The second thing we are working on is recycling plastic film.  This is sponsored by Trex, and goes from November 15th through April 15th.  There are three drop boxes, one in the front entry, one in the back entry, and one by my classroom (B129) in the Escanaba High School.  Here is a sheet that you can use to determine if what you have can be recyced with us.
3.  The last thing we have started is recycling plastic bottles and aluminum cans.  We have a few bins (Thanks Sandy Dufresne for helping get those).  One is placed in the cafeteria at the end by the gym, and another is near B129.  We have a goal of getting more bins placed around the school.  The challenge is sponsored by PepsiCo through their recycing rally.
The more items we recycle through this, the better our chances of winning prizes that will help us continue collecting recyclables!  Thanks to all who are helping.

If anyone is interested in purchasing recycling bins for our plastic bottles, it would be awesome!
