I am going to do a few updates here, in hopes that they can reach the most people!
Wow, there is so much going on right now!  From school closings, to testing cancellations, to toilet paper shortages!  If there is one thing that I do know for sure is that teachers are thinking/worrying about their students and how they are doing at this time. For many students this is very isolating, and they need that daily dose of people to get them through, and for others, this is a needed break where they struggle daily to get through school.  A few things to note:

1.  Food pick up will be on Monday, March 30th.  It is from 2-7, but even if you line up at 1:30, that doesn't mean that we will pass out food early!  Some guidance on how to best do this food pick up with ZERO contact with the workers:

 a.  Write out a paper with the number of boxes you need at the top.  Then list the schools and grade levels of each of the students you are picking up for!  Place this paper on your window when you pull up to the people taking the data (they will be standing right before the pick up area).
 b.  Open the trunk or the door where you want the food BEFORE you get to the pick up area (if that means you have it open from the time you put your paper on the window that is fine with us).  We will see the open door/trunk and place the boxes there.  We don't want to touch door handles.  We will shut the trunk or door (just not using the handles).  Trying not to cross contaminate here!
 c. Understand that we will continue to make sure kids are fed no matter how long this goes on, so don't feel that you need to grab extra boxes just in case!  We want to make sure we can feed as many kids as possible!

2.  Principals and staff are working to decide on how we will move forward with education of your children.  An initial plan will be put together next week so we will definitely let you know.  In the mean time, get ahold of a teacher or call the school and let us know your student's name, grade level, and if you have a computer the student can access as well as internet.  Ask your student if they know their e-mail and password, and leave us the best way to contact you!  There is no set plan for the future, but we want to be prepared!

3.  This too shall pass.  We miss you all, we are working on a graduation for seniors, regardless of how this plays out.  If you have ideas, you are welcome to e-mail me at jgarber@eskymos.com
